The Best Table Saws – Top 5
Best Table Saw Reviews
Best Budget Table Saw – SKIL 3410-02
The SKIL 3410-02 is a great saw if you need a capable saw, with a long warranty, but don’t want to pay for a DEWALT.
The SKIL comes with a 3 year warranty, which is only beaten by DEWALT. Generally, manufacturers don’t give a product a long warranty if they aren’t confident in it, so you can take the 3 year warranty to mean that this saw is going to be very dependable.
Because of the stand and the relative low weight of 45.1 pounds, the 3410-02 is easy to move around, whether you’re in your workshop or on a job site. You’ll also enjoy the fact that the saw is very solid so there won’t be any movement in it when you are cutting.
The saw comes with the standard 15 amp motor, which is capable of most tasks – especially when combined with a 10 inch blade.
The capabilities of the saw are further enhanced by the extendable rip fence fence, which let’s you cuts pieces up to 32 inches wide. And the rear also extends to support wood when it’s exiting the saw. To top that off, the miter angle (45 degrees left and right) combined with the bevel angle (0 to 47 degrees) give you a saw that’s capable to almost every cut you could need to make.
Another feature that helps with portability is having onboard storage for the miter gauge, rip fence and other accessories. This helps to ensure that you don’t lose anything when you’re transporting the saw or at a job site. And the SKIL 3410-02 has you covered as it includes onboard storage for each accessory.
Who should buy this table saw? A hobbyist looking for a capable saw with a long warranty.

Craftsman Evolv 28461
The Evolv 28461 is great saw for DIYers on a budget. It doesn’t have all the features of more expensive saws, like the DEWALT DWE7491RS. But if you just need to make a few simple cuts occasionally, this could be the saw for you.
As with the other saws we reviewed, it comes with a 10 inch blade being spun by a 15 amp motor. And you’ll find that the motor is quieter than some other 10 inch saws, which is a nice feature. That’s not to say that the motor is weak – it’s definitely solid and capable of most tasks.
The Craftsman Evolv 28461 doesn’t have an extendable rip fence or let you make micro-adjustments of the rip fence. So you will need to figure out a way to do this yourself or just live with the fact that this is a basic saw that makes basic cuts.
Having said that, the saw has a miter angle of 45 degrees left and right and a bevel angle of 0 to 45 degrees – so you are far from limited.
And it comes with enough extras that you will be cutting wood in no time.
The saw comes with a 1 year warranty and all the safety features that you would expect – anti-kickback pawls, blade guard assembly and a push stick.
Another bonus is the stand which is included with the saw. That’s an unusual feature for a budget saw but it’s definitely appreciated, especially as the Evolv 28461 is on the heavily side at 50.4 pounds. The stand itself works well. You just have to make sure that it’s put together tightly, which shouldn’t be difficult as assembly is easy.
One drawback is that the miter gauge can be loose. But that’s easily solved by holding it firmly against the slot as you make the cut.
Given its budget price, this is a great saw that’s capable of basic cuts and can be relied upon for years to come.
Who should buy this table saw? A hobbyist look for a cheap saw to make basic cuts.

Best Table Saw – DEWALT DW745
DEWALT is an American company that designs and builds tools in the US. They’re known for building high-quality tools that produce great results and the DW745 is no exception.
The powerful 15 amp motor and 10 inch blade can handle even hard woods like walnut and oak with ease. When you combine that with the highly-accurate rack and pinion rip fence, you have a saw that can handle almost every cut with ease.
Speaking of the rip fence, it extends to 20 inches which lets you cut larger pieces without any loss of accuracy.
The saw has great safety features as standard such as a riving knife, blade guard and anti-kickback mechanism. These will keep you safe without slowing you down, which is important when working on large projects.
The DW745 features a steel roll cage that will protect your table saw, whether its in your home workshop or on the job site. And the roll cage, combined with the saws light weight of 45 pounds, means that you will be able to move the saw easily. And if you decide that you need one, DEWALT makes a rolling saw stand that makes it childs play to move the saw around.
The DW745 makes dust collection a snap, even for a table saw. So you can spend more time cutting and less time cleaning up.
As you would expect with DEWALT products, the construction quality is excellent. And their warranty is excellent too at three years. All of this means that the DW745 is a table saw that will serve you for years to come.
All in all, the DW745’s power, accuracy and quality construction make this the obvious choice for the hobbyist.
Update: we loved this saw so much that we included it in our guide to the 50 best gifts for DIY fans.

The Bosch is the best table saw for semi-professionals who need a portable saw that’s on the lighter side.
The Bosch 4100-09 weighs in at 60 pounds versus 68.8 pounds of the DEWALT DWE7491RS. Now 8.8 pounds might not sound like much but after a day of working on a job site, that will feel like a huge difference. Another great feature of the Bosch is the Gravity Rise™ stand. This had been engineered so that you don’t feel as much of the saws weight when opening and closing the stand. All of this combines to give you a saw that’s easy to move and doesn’t take up much space when being transported.
The Bosch has an excellent 15 amp motor which is capable of tackling most hardwoods with ease, especially when combined with the 10 inch blade. A nice feature of the motor is it’s soft start, which means you won’t be tripping any breakers as the motor ramps up.
You would expect a higher-end saw to be capable of a wide variety of cuts. And the Bosch 4100-09 doesn’t disappoint. It has a miter angle of 30 degrees left and right and a bevel angle of -2 to 47 degrees. When you combine that with the ability to add dado sets and molding sets, you have a saw that is capable of most professional tasks.
The dust collection isn’t great, which you might expect in a $100 saw but it’s a bit disappointing in a semi-professional model.
That fact combined with the knowledge that the Bosch comes with a 1 year warranty compared to the the 3 year warranty of the DEWALT DWE7491RS mean that the DWE7491RS just edges out the Bosch.
Who should buy this table saw? A semi-professional looking for a great table that easy to move.

Best Jobsite Table Saw – DEWALT DWE7491RS
The DEWALT DWE7491RS is pretty much the best portable table saw that money can buy.
It’s rip fence is wide enough to allow you to cut 4 feet X 8 feet sheets, but it’s still accurate enough to make precision cuts that will make a professional carpenter smile.
One of the great features of the DWE7491RS is that all the common adjustments are within easy reach, so making calibration adjustments is quick and easy.
The same amount of thought has been put into the stand, which is an afterthought for many manufacturers, but not for DEWALT. They placed the controls so that nothing is in your way when you use the saw. And the Stop button can be easily reached with a hand or a knee in the case of an emergency.
Check out this video to see more about how the saw is laid out.
You’ll want to use the stand as the saw is pretty heavy – weighing in at around 68.8 pounds. However, because the stand is easy to change from standing to rolling mode, you wont feel a lot of that weight. The stand is easy to use in thanks to its wheels and folding legs, which make the stand very maneuverable – even over round ground. We also liked that the stand is sturdy and well-balanced, which means that there’s less chance of you knocking it over.
In fact the attention to detail is so great, that people who own this saw rave about the dust collection capability. That’s something that the owners of other saws will often complain about but not DWE7491RS owners!
The one downside is that if you push the saw hard, it will pull more than 15 amps. But this will only happen if you are cutting hardwoods like cherry, walnut or oak – which it can handle with ease given a 20 amp circuit.
As you would expect from a DEWALT, the build quality is excellent and that’s backed up by the awesome 3 year warranty.
Who should buy this table saw? Semi-professionals looking for a quality saw that’s powerful, mobile and accurate.

If you’re a hobbyist, we recommend buying the DEWALT DW745. It’s powerful motor can handle even the toughest tasks like cutting walnut and oak. And it’s steel roll cage will protect your investment from damage. As with all DEWALTs, the build quality is excellent and the extendable rip fence will help you make cuts as large as you are likely to need.
If you’re a very serious hobbyist, the best table saw for you is the DEWALT DWE7491RS. Again it goes without saying that the build quality is excellent. But really it’s the extra features that stand out. The massively extendable rip fence allows you to cut 4 x 8 sheets but the micro adjustments allow you to make fine cuts with precision as well.
